My son, Stuart, joined the Rivermead Golf Club in late May with lots of trepidation and concern, mainly because he is a shy twelve year old boy and he didn't know a single sole at the course. He worried that it would be difficult for a twelve year old kid as an outsider to fit into a new place with no familiar faces. That quickly changed. Dan Patry and Ralph Kuster made Stuart feel welcome from the first day he showed up and from that day forward my son enjoyed the best summer he has ever experienced in his young life. Becoming a Junior Member of the Rivermead Golf Club has been a life changing experience for Stuart and has been the catalyst for so many positive changes in his young life. First and foremost, as a parent, I am so grateful to see him grow and develop as a person and this experience helped him to grow and mature more than anything else he has been a part of to date. Over the past four months my wife and I watched our quiet, shy twelve year old son grow into a much more confident and outgoing person. In May he was afraid to head into the Pro Shop to ask questions and by September he was politely conversing with several of the members of the club who were considerate enough to take the time to get to know a Junior Member - and there were many good people that made him feel welcome and part of something special. The environment that he was part of always provided him with such a safe and positive place to grow and develop as a person - and he is so proud to be a member of such a prestigious golf course. He treats the people and resources at his club with the great respect and we are so proud to see the great values and life lessons Stuart is learning through this experience. This is simply the tip of the iceberg for personal growth that he has experienced but more than anything else, his personal growth and development has been the greatest gift of all to us, as parents.
With regards to the Rivermead Golf Course, Stuart really feels so fortunate and privileged to play at a course that offers so much and being a part of this club and what it has to offer has inspired him, helped to increase his passion in the sport and has been an incredible place to help him to develop as a junior golfer. Being a member of this golf course is a dream for any twelve year old kid and this summer Stuart has been living a dream. The practice facilities are outstanding and the course is beautifully maintained. Showing up at the golf course was always fun and enjoyable for Stuart. He could easily spend 8 or 9 hours at the course and not want to leave at the end of the day. Practicing was as much fun as playing and Stuart seldom missed a clinic or an opportunity to learn, which truly speaks to how much fun he had. This was directly tied to the Junior Program that you have implemented.
The Junior program and what it offered - clinics, field days, golf tournaments and summer camp - was second to none and Ralph Kuster and Corey Raymond were remarkable as they helped Stuart develop as a golfer and a person, but also instilled in him a real love for the sport with the energy, enthusiasm and their way of making each junior member feel like a special person at the Rivermead. I don't think I have ever met a teacher like Ralph. He has the most energy of any teacher I have ever met and the way he connects to the kids and teaches through story telling is incredible. The energy he exudes gets transferred directly to the kids and there are always smiling faces on the kids when Ralph is present. Corey Raymond has also been an outstanding teacher and role model for the youngsters. He has more patience than any teacher I have ever met and not only is he a gifted teacher, the kids all adore him and look up to him like a big brother. For Stuart, Ralph and Corey always went out of their way to make him feel special, they were such a big part of his personal development and played a big role in making this a memorable summer.
Thank you so much for all your effort and your team's effort in making the Rivermead a special place for the youth in our community to grow and develop as people and athletes. You have done a wonderful job of creating a special place for kids and I can't thank you enough for making such a difference for Stuart.

Just wanted to say how nice it was to be treated so specially during the club championship last weekend. Dan and Ralph made every contestant feel special by announcing their names on the first tee. A final note to say how pleased Monique and I with the brunch last Sunday. The setup was great, the food marvellous, and the service superb. I had lunch yesterday with three guests and the food and service by Mariana was excellent. In the evening we had dinner and the service by the gentleman with the lovely French accent was superb as was the service. Wine recommendation also superb.Bravo Rivermead! I would like to commend Derrick and his staff on the condition of the course. As good as it has been in the past it is even better this year if that is possible, absolutely superb. I know it must be great, I haven't heard a complaint from anyone. Thanks Derrick B. Smith |

Hi Audrey; on behalf of myself and my spouse, Ann Marie, we would like to thank you and Jean-Pierre for a wonderful dining experience! The wines were quite good, our favorite of course being the Californian paired with Lamb. Our guests truly enjoyed the event and we are looking forward to the next one! |

Bonjour Monsieur Akl, je n'ai que des félications à faire. Quelle belle journée hier. Beaucoup de membres ont participé au championnat du club ainsi que beaucoup de spectateurs. Je n'avais jamais vu une aussi grande foule. Quelle belle initiative pour la bière et le vin gratuit au 18ieme trou. Tout ça suivi d'une belle présentation des trophées. Le souper était très bon (Brochette de grillades) et le service excellent. En plus du bon vin.... J'ai trouvé cela une très bonne idée d'avoir invité monsieur Martin Rémillard, sommelier. Je tiens à remercier le club Rivermead pour mon souper à titre gracieux. Sachez qu'il me fait toujours plaisir de représenter le club Rivermead, qui me tient à coeur, et j'espère le faire encore plusieurs années.

Dear Chef Dongue On Thursday evening August 25 I hosted a small dinner for my family. I just wanted you to know how wonderful the meal was. It was imaginative, beautifully presented, and delighted the palette. My 9 year old grandson thought the first course of the cassoulet de fruits de mer was the best first course he had ever had ("It is even better than fried smelts or calamari friti "). I started with the salad of tomatoes and goat cheese in a watermelon 'crepe' with almost too beautiful to eat. We all enjoyed the meal and the experience and I will pass along my favorable impressions to my golfing friends. Congratulations to you and your staff. It was a great pleasure for all of us.
