Superintendant : Derrick Powers
Derrick Powers was born and raised in Napanee, Ontario. He grew up loving all sports, in particular, hockey, fast-ball and, of course, golf, and was a member at Napanee Golf and Country Club from a very young age. He began working on the golf course during the summers throughout high school. He attended the University of Guelph and graduated from the Turf Grass Management program in 1994.
Derrick started his professional career as Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Brockville Country Club, then at Carleton Golf and Yacht Club and at Rideau View Country Club. In March 2000, he was named Golf Course Superintendent at Rivermead.
He is a Class A Superintendent of the Canadian Golf Superintendent Association, the Golf Course Superintendents’ Association of America, the Quebec Golf Superintendent Association and the Ontario Golf Superintendents Association.
Over the years, Derrick has been a member of many professional associations and committees: the Board of Directors of the Ottawa Valley Turfgrass Association (2000-06, currently Past President); the Ottawa Valley Turfgrass Research Foundation; the Canadian Golf Superintendent Association Research and Development Committee (since 2004).

Greg Quinn
Greg Quinn grew up in the small town of Osgoode, just south of Ottawa. Always very active in sports, particularly golf, he was introduced to golf maintenance at the age of 15 by a family friend, and he was hooked.
He spent a summer on the maintenance team at Poplar Grove Golf Club in Metcalfe, before moving to Rideau View Golf & Country Club, where he was for the past 11 years.
In 2008, he attended the Golf Course Technician's Program at Seneca College in Toronto, and graduated with honours in 2010. He is also a member of the Ottawa Valley Turfgrass Association as well as the CGSA and the GCSAA.
In March 2012, Greg joined Rivermead as an Assistant Superintendent.
Matthew Cunningham
Matthew Cunningham was born near Montreal in Chambly, Quebec. He excelled in sports, especially hockey, which he played and coached at the competitive level.
While he was in CEGEP, he began working at Pinegrove Country Club as a turf maintenance worker and became very passionate about the industry. After five years, Matthew moved on to the Chambly Golf Course as assistant superintendent. In 2009, he moved to Ottawa to pursue his career as assistant superintendent at Eagle Creek.
He graduated from the Golf Course Management Program at ITA in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, in 2005 and is an active member of the Ottawa Valley Turf Grass Association.
In March 2012, Matthew joined Rivermead as an Assistant Superintendent.
